Technical Scholars Tour

In support of the Technical Scholars Program, PEP organized the Technical Scholars Tour to make high school students aware of the opportunity to work part-time in participating industries while attending Aiken Technical College for free. The tour sponsored by PEP gives students the chance to speak to previous participants in the Technical Scholars Program and gather information about how to apply and join the program. The tour is sponsored by Bridgestone.

The Technical Scholars Program is a partnership between Aiken Tech and multiple local industries. The sponsoring companies help pay for students’ tuition and books and offer them approximately 20 hours/week of employment. Their work is tailored to provide hands-on learning that complements what the student is learning in the classroom. This program is offered for specific degrees/certifications where local industries have difficulty filling jobs.
