Here are Board Membership FAQs
This is a working board with active committees that run programs, review grant applications, make presentations, and raise funds for PEP. Board members take leadership roles in support of everything we do.
The full board meets monthly about 10 times per year. Meetings are held at the Aiken Chamber of Commerce on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 4:30 to 6:00. The November meeting is on the 3rd Wednesday. Committees meet in between the general meetings.
We ask for a three year commitment, but no specific term is required. If a member is unable to attend at least 7 meetings in each year, they will be invited to make their seat available to be filled with the thanks of the board for their service.
Board members may not benefit financially from service, but we find our work to be personally rewarding, knowing that we are helping support our local schools, teachers, administrators and students.
The PEP board is non-partisan, and has a non-discrimination policy. Every board member must sign the Conflict of Interest policy annually.
